Custom Shop Martin Adirondack Top and Braced Guitars
We at the Fifth String Music Store here in Sacramento came up with an idea a few years ago; let's see if we can have C.F. Martin Co. manufacture some guitars for our store made in the tradition of their pre-war guitars. Adirondack instead of the standard sitka spruce for the top and the scalloped X-bracing. We also wanted to offer these retro style guitars at a price well below that of other custom shops. We have succeeded! These instruments are manufactured in Martin's custom shop, have "Custom" listed as the model on the inside neck block, and are like no others around. So for slightly more than a standard model, you can have a Martin guitar with pre-war appointments, Adirondack spruce top and braces!
The Bluegrass General
An HD-28V with pre-war style bridge, Adirondack top and bracing. This guitar has a very robust bass and very clean treble. A wonderful guitar for both rhythm and lead, the Adirondack spruce gives this guitar a sound you may have found from a brand new Martin guitar, in the 1940's, without the associated price tag of vintage instruments. Perfect for those players seeking a Tony Rice style tone. Comes with Geib style case.

The Bluegrass Colonel
A D-18V with Adirondack top and bracing, this guitar is a lead player's dream. A strong and complex bass blended with a detailed bell brass treble lends this instrument to players who want a bright, punchy lead tone. Comes with a very nice Geib style case and sells for a little less than the Bluegrass General.

Eastman Mandolins
Eastman, long a manufacturer of high quality hand built bowed instruments and
jazz guitars has taken the bluegrass world by storm with their line
of F and A style mandolins. Hand carved in Beijing, these mandolins
feature beautifully flamed and stained maple back and sides. The
S models offer the classic sunburst finish found on vintage Gibson
mandolins. These instruments offer all of the classic tone and playability
found in Gibson mandolins new and old, for a fraction of the price.
Featherlite cases are included and price range varies depending
